Original illustrations and stitched accessories to brighten your day!
It's beginning to look like summer...
Which means that courier times are starting to stretch out, and that I will be taking a bit of a break from once I've finished making orders. Last date for domestic pre-Christmas orders on most items - if they're showing in stock - is 15 December.
Lampshades or anything shown as back order will have a longer turn around time, of up to six weeks.
It’s past my bedtime, but I couldn’t let another Wednesday slip past without updating my Felt favourites.
Featuring items by minu, herc, boocraft, redjasper, maisie-moo, and ZippityDooDa, tonight’s Felt Showcase is bought to you by the letter ZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
Yes, yes, I know that it is Wednesday, and I should be doing an I <3 Felt post, but I also have come to the realisation that I only really get time to do one blog post a week, and that I should actually talk about myself sometimes (hey, I’m a kiwi, it doesn’t come that easily!).
So, I’ve decided that this week I should update you with some of the things I’ve been doing.
Applying for Craft Fairs. I’ve got a few coming up in the next few weeks.
Craft2.0, 12 June 2010 at the Dowse in Lower Hutt. You can check out my crafter’s profile here. Make sure you also read all about all the other talented people who will be selling that day too. If you haven’t been to Craft2.0 yet, it is well worth the trip to Lower Hutt (it’s closer than you think: it takes less than 15 minutes from the Wellington CBD by car, just a little longer on the bus, or the Dowse is approximately a 20 minute stroll from Waterloo Station). Extra special for the June Craft2.0 is that the installation of It’s a Tree! will be complete, and you can come along and wonder at the marvellous work that has been put together by Tash from Knitsch.
Mid-Winter Knack, Saturday 26 June in the Wellington South Intermediate School Hall. This is a great market to head along to to see who’s new in the Wellington Craft Scene. It’s very family-friendly, there is always a good ol’ cake stall and yummy hot food as well.
A Craft Affair, Sunday 11 July at Our City O-Tautahi in Christchurch (Yes, I’m heading South for this one!). This is a new market in Christchurch, taking over the mantle of the Christchurch Craft2.0. Organised and curated by Lucy from Felt, it is sure to be a fantastic fair, and I am very excited to be included in the line up.
Working on new things – some new bags, purses, and most recently, bangles.
Looking at pretty stuff on Felt! (of course I couldn’t resist)
Beautiful, creative things come out of Dunedin – just ask my mother!
This week I’ve decided to showcase some lovely things made by creative people from the city I will always think of as home. Not only do I think that these are wonderul objects, but the photography of them also really impressed me too.

I’ve just been watching the final of NZ MasterChef, and inspired by the yummy food that Brett and Kelly were serving up, I went searching for edibles, and edible-inspired goodies on www.felt.co.nz.
I found vibrant coloured tea, a cute little cupcake-packaged baby shower gift set, and a lovely cupcake decorating set, amongst very delish-looking felt faux food and a gorgeous apron to keep you tidy in the kitchen when you’re whipping up your own yummy treats.
I’m such a bad blogger. I always have such great intentions of writing more, and then I get distracted. But getting distracted by all the lovely things on Felt.co.nz isn’t such a bad thing, is it?
This week, my eye was caught by the following listings, which I found by searching for the term “Autumn” (because it’s been getting a little chilly around here now).
I wonder how long I can resist buying those arm-warmers for…
It’s well and truly time for another I <3 Felt Wednesday Showcase. I've been so busy sewing for markets recently, that my wardrobe is looking a little sad and dated. I've started a side project to update my look (check out www.handmakemeover.wordpress.com if you’re interested in seeing my progress – and helping to keep me motivated by commenting 🙂 ). But I also need some new clothes now. So I’ve been busy browing what’s available in the Clothing > Womenswear category on Felt. Here are a few of my favourites:
Tonight I decided to check out some of the artworks that are available for sale on felt.co.nz. Here are some of my favourites from my browsing through the art category.
Hello! It’s been a wee while, I was busy in the lead up to Christmas, and then I went away on a lovely holiday for 2 weeks. I really enjoyed myself road-tripping around the South Island with the hubbie. We saw some amazing things, including rare hoiho/yellow-eyed penguins coming in to shore for the night across a petrified forest! It doesn’t get much more magical than that.
I’m back home now, and raring to go for the new year. I haven’t made anything new for the shops yet, but I have been checking out what’s available from other lovely sellers on Felt.co.nz. Somehow I haven’t got around to making dinner yet tonight, so this showcase is dedicated to food-inspired craft!
So, there’s this new thing happening on Felt each Wednesday, where members showcase some of their favourite items. It’s called “I <3 Felt”, and I’m playing for the first time this week. Being a bit of a collector of notions, I couldn’t help but fall in love with this rose made from zips by zippitydooda, and I’ve taken it from there, with a collection of florally goodness from felt!
Hopefully by next week I’ll have worked out how to make this look all pretty on my blog. If you want to see it in the lovely Felt Showcase Format, check out my Facebook Fan page.
